5 Things to do in Castle Rock for a fun day with the family

Hey, everyone! If you’re looking for something fun to do with your kids in Castle Rock this week, I have a few suggestions. I hope you find something that you will be interested in taking a look at with the family. Enjoy!

THINGS TO DO IN CASTLE ROCK

Dawson Butte Open Space Trail

Hiking at Dawson Butte Open Space with the family is relaxing, this is one of my favorites, and it is close by. Pine trees surround the trails and offer amazing views. It is accessible for hikers of all ages and skill levels; you can see lots of deer, and people riding horses making it a perfect adventure for the whole family. This park is also one of my favorites for family and high school senior sessions because of its backdrop with hills, trees, open space, and a beautiful sunset always filled with beautiful light that allows me to create beautiful work for families.

Festival Park in Castle Rock

Festival Park in Castle Rock is a nice location to visit with your family since it is a park where people can have a great time with family and friends. There are open fields where we can play games and have picnics. The park has a cool playground with swings, water fountains for the kids to cool off in the summer, and slides for kids to enjoy. We usually walk around the paths on warm days. Festival Park often hosts events and concerts which are fun for visitors and locals.

The Edge Zipline and Adventures in Castle Rock (Kids 8+)

This is a paid activity with the family, but this can be a really fun experience. I haven’t taken my kids because they are still too young, but if your kids are at least 8 years old and they’re adventurous, this can be something super fun for you to do with them. We usually go to Phillipe Miller Park, and we can see people enjoying the zipline from there.

Public Library in Castle Rock

The public library in Castle Rock is a great place for learning and exploration. The library provides a peaceful environment for reading, studying, or simply relaxing with a good book. The staff is helpful and always ready to assist with any questions or recommendations. They also organize engaging events and programs for children, teens, and adults. This is my go-to place on cold or rainy days, since my kids can color, play with other kids and get some books to bring home.

Crave Burger in Castle Rock

You’re probably wondering why I am suggesting a restaurant. Well, after a fun day exploring Castle Rock, this is usually one of our go-to restaurants to enjoy a meal when the kids asks for a cheeseburger before heading home. The restaurant offers a delicious selection of burgers made with high-quality ingredients and some of them are even award-winning. They have classic cheeseburgers with unique and creative flavor combinations, so there’s something for everyone. The burgers are cooked to perfection, juicy, and served with a side of crispy fries. The staff is friendly and provides excellent service, making the experience even more enjoyable. This certainly is one of my kids favorite.
