Hey, Parker Moms! If you’re looking for something fun to do with your kids for free in Parker and can’t think of anything, I can help with that. Here are my top 3  free things to do in Parker with toddlers.

Has your family gone on a walk in McCabe Meadows Park? I think that this is a great location to take kids exploring, biking, or riding scooters. It’s located along the west side of Parker Road; and this park includes a trailhead with access to Cherry Creek trail.  My kids love exploring the trail, and riding bikes around, and when it’s time to head back home, we all make a quick stop by the parking lot so they can play a little longer collecting the “treasures” that they find along the way.
There is only one thing that you need to be aware of since it’s a busy park. In the fall, it’s super busy with photographers and family getting their pictures done. You can even find me there sometimes photographing families, so when I am photographing little ones, I always warn families about the bikers along the trail, because you know, kids are fast runners and they might not see the bikers coming. I have even seen people riding horses over there, and my kids definitely love seeing that. I hope you enjoy you walk if you go over there.

2) Storytime time at the local library in Downtown Parker

The Douglas County Library in Parker is an awesome place to spend some time with your kids. They have a coloring area, reading space and a new fun play area. And as a bonus, they have a water fountain right in front of the library that is on during the summer so make sure you take a change of clothes, because your kids might want to play after the library. They have summer reading programs and events for little ones and adults. In the winter, they open an ice skating rink right by the library which is pretty nice. So, I always play in the winter a day in which I plan to go to the library, ice skating, a walk in Downtown Parker and some hot chocolate.

3) O’Brien Park Playground

This playground for sure is a favorite, and my kids love going there. It’s a really fun place with lots of space to spend a few hours with your kids if you want to. We even go there on cold days to spend at least 30 minutes playing, and in the summer, we usually take lunch, play for a few hours and then go just across the park to get some ice cream.

Have you been to any of these locations? If not, plan a day around them and I am certain you kids will enjoy. I am a family and senior photographer living in Parker, so I am always out exploring trying to find new places to hang out with my kids and take portraits. Before you go, let me ask you one thing. When was the last time you had family portraits taken? If you need to updated your family photos, take a look around my website and let’s chat to see if we are a good fit. I hope you like my style, and I can’t wait to hear from you.
